Apartment: 1 bedroom (AC), 1 sitting room (AC), kitchen, bathroom, big terrace
- english, french, italian
I have been living the area of Nice for over 3 years and enjoy its primary location with all you required from the beach, to the mountains (1.5 hours by car, you can ski) to the city.
Yves purchased this Apartment in 2013
Why Yves chose Carabacel
I love the architecture of this building and the great environment and neighbourhood give it a feel of living the life of the cote d'Azur. After going to the market and did all my shopping, I can then cook a delicious provencal meal. After a quick siesta, I can then go to the beach and enjoy the sunshine. A quick drink at home on the terrace and I am off to enjoy Nice by night.
What makes this Apartment unique
A unique terrace big enough to enjoy sun lounging or take all meals in a relaxing setting. A clear view over the roofs of Nice gives a feel of Italian lifestyle.

This pleasant apartment looked exactly as advertised and was a comfortable home during my trip.
Lovely flat ideally suited for two
This is a delightful property, a thoughtfully blend of modern convenience and old touches set in an interesting part of Nice with easy access to the railway station, tram, beach, museums and shopping centre. It has an imposing view to the front and a homely and generally quiet and private view to the rear.
The front is relatively close to a main road. Although noisy during the day, at night with the double-glazed window closed it was beautifully quiet. The double bed was excellent. The patio area was surprisingly private and a pleasant place to sit morning or evening.
The flat is at the top of the building. The stair is long. Once mastered, the petite lift worked perfectly.
We found opening the front door to the building to be an art and the voice part of the entry phone system did not work for us. I recommend you ensure you have more than one set of keys, if you are more than one.
Fantastic apartment in great location.
Just returned from an amazing 11nights stay at this property. Yves & Pierre, our hosts, were always available & very helpful including Pierre allowing us to check in early. Flat was spotless & in a great location with a 5 minute walk to the trams & only a further 2 minutes to the train station in Nice making it easy for us to explore the Cote D’Azur. Flat also had a lovely roof terrace for having breakfast in the morning or a glass of Rose after our days adventures. There is a Carrefour (local supermarket) just a 2 minute walk away & a couple of lovely boulangeries near by selling lovely croissants & pastries. Would highly recommend this property to couples, young & old, & would definitely return in the future. Many thanks Yves & Pierre.

Hi Yves we found sofa Bed uncomfortable Maybe we could suggest a second alternative option of a armchair under Television The Lift difficult to enter and exit But we understand the age etc of the building Thanks Mr & Mrs Hill
Spacious and airy in a great location
We really enjoyed our Nice apartment. Despite being on the 6th floor, there is a tiny lift that allowed us to bring our bags up (one at a time!). Other than that, we challenged ourselves to take the stairs up 7 flights at least daily in order to work off the great food we were having! The apartment is just right for 2 people. The high ceilings and tall windows make the apartment seem larger than it is. The view from the terrace and the bedroom is a lovely old hotel high on a hill. The kitchen view is of the central courtyard with the neighbors hanging laundry and socializing. When the windows are closed, it is blissfully quiet. The bedroom has AC that we used twice during our stay. Really didn’t need it this time of year (opened the windows early morning to let in the fresh breeze). Amenities were very close: Carrefour just around the corner, a great patisserie/boulangerie just down from the Carrefour. We walked everywhere with the exception of taking the #17 bus from the pharmacy stop near the train station to Henri Matisse museum and the Archeological Museum. I think the #15 does this as well but we just happened to be near the Nice-Ville station. Vieux Nice is also a 15-20 minute walk, maybe longer depending on where in Old Nice you want to go. The apartment was nicely appointed and seemed to have everything we needed. An enjoyable visit and we hope to return here someday soon!
Weekend plus in nice
Small or should we say petit but very clean excellent conditions
Charming lift although was out of order for a few days
Good Lidl and carrefour with a few minutes walk
Very mixed location but suited us
Good value the owners were always available and accommodating
Vélo Bleu (or Blue bicycle) is an easy to use self-service bicycle rental system and there's one station at the bottom of the building.
