About John Pastorius
Bear Path Lodge will sleep 8+. Mountain view from the front porch and a 7 person hot tub on the rear porch. (4 fat people!)
John Pastorius purchased this Cabin in 2002
Why John Pastorius chose Pigeon Forge
Our names are John and Janice Pastorius. We moved to Sevierville from Southwestern Pennsylvania in August of 2002 and purchased the Lodge. We own and operate the cabins so we don't charge the "fees" that other rental companies charge. The price we quote is for a group of 6 or less. If you call you won't be talking to a sales representative it will either be Janice or John.
What makes this Cabin unique
Bear Path Lodge is located in the foothills of the Great Smokie Mountains. We are only minutes away from all the major attractions. Pigeon Forge is a 10 minute drive, Gatlinburg is 15 minutes away. We are located off State Route 416 in Richardson Cove so you don't have to deal with all the traffic on the parkway. There are several side roads to get you where you want to be.

Family vacation
We had a great time. The place was perfect for are family vacation.
Thank you very much Nicole. We loved having you. Please return anytime.
It’s COLD!
The only place in the cabin that was bearable to stay in was the loft area. The downstairs was extremely cold. They have a space heater in the master bedroom (which in my opinion is dangerous because they are the cause of many house fires) but it wouldn’t even stay plugged in. My husband and I ended up sleeping in the loft so we wouldn’t freeze. That would not have been too bad except you just felt like you were sleeping on springs. We called them to ask for a refund for the next two nights because we didn’t want to be miserable the whole time we were on vacation. They would not refund our money so we payed double because we just could not stay there in the cold.
It was also not very well cleaned which I could handle that better than just being miserably cold. All in all if you go when its warm then you should be fine.
You called me on the second day of a 3 day stay. Your concern was you didn't have good cell service and the cabin wasn't warm enough and wanted a 2 day refund. There are 3 ceramic heaters in the cabin for extra heat if needed, there is also a wood burning stove, a ceiling fan to circulate the air. You didn't want to use any of them. You could have also turn the temperature of wall heater up. You also told me you would call me back when you decided what you were going to do. You never did. Sorry I couldn't do anything to make you happy.
Exactly what we wanted!
This cabin was definitely old school but suited our needs for the weekend!
Some things to note:
-Little to no cell signal (which was a plus for us to unplug for the weekend)
-Cold in master bedroom: you may think you don't need those extra blankets but you do!
-Fully stocked kitchen with all utensils
-Dark shower (not negative just a heads up)
-20 minutes from Pigeon Forge and 25 from Gatlinburg
-Sweet views from the hot tub!
All around just a great place! We really enjoyed ourselves and the owners were so nice to talk to. They had speedy replies to our messages. Would definitely stay again!
Thank you so much for your review. Please come back and visit anytime.
We Loved it!

Thank you Britney, come back anytime
Quiet retreat
The place was quiet and peaceful. There is no wifi which sucks, but did give us some good family game time!! Would definitely come back again! Thanks for having us!
Thank you. You are welcome anytime.
It was ok
The cabin had a smell to it. There were ants all over the place. Wasn’t what it was listed as. Other than that it was ok. Could have been better. The cabin has great potential just needs a little TLC.
Yes the cabin has a musty smell to it because it in the woods surrounded by trees. We tried to correct that with the air fresheners. Ants are always a battle we tried to keep on top of it with ant baits. Thanks for your feedback and thank you for your stay. You are welcome back anytime thanks again.
