Why Terence Stevens chose Whitchurch Canonicorum
The Tallet is is situated on Tizards Knapp a spur leading down to Charmouth & Lyme Regis with unique views to the north to Lambert Hill and to the south to Stronebarrow Hill and to the west to the sea at Lyme Regis and Charmouth. There are three acres of formal gardens and a 12 metre swimming pool just below the cottage adjoining a large terrace with Arts & craft style archways and a large conservatory. There is no other cottage in Dorset or indeed perhaps the whole of the South West that reaches this standard of style and beauty.
What makes this Cottage unique
Complete privacy including separate parking bay just off the road. Very quiet and peaceful atmosphere that is immediately apparent on entering and often remarked on.

Quaint and idyllic cottage
Lovely little cottage with fantastic views and the grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. The owners were very nice and welcoming and provided recommendations for places to go and where to eat. Lyme Regis is only 10 mins away and we visited often, very clean and we had some lovely meals and lazy days on the beach.
Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming! The Tallet cottage was located in an idyllic setting, with lovely views from the owners' superb garden. The patio, conservatory and swimming pool made us feel we were on the Italian riviera. The cottage was cosy, comfortable and very well equipped. All in all, one of the best holiday properties we have ever stayed in.
Quaint little cottage with lovely views and grounds.
Stayed for a week at end of April. Needed a fire in the evenings and we were supplied with plenty of wood for a fire, which was cosy. Very steep spiral stone stairs up to bedroom and bathroom which would be tricky for elderly or disabled. Beautiful views and gardens. Comfortable bed. Very handy for Bridport and coastal resorts. Enjoyed our stay.
Delightful stay with thoughtful hosts
Lovely cottage beside a beautiful Arts and Crafts house with a delightful conservatory and gardens. Perfect for two wanting a restful week and with lots to see - and eat - locally. Very gracious and, if needed, helpful hosts.
Thank you. Much appreciated.

Lovely Week. Lovely area and Views. Lovely Weather and Lovely People.
Fantastic location, small cosy, fun cottage with an open fire set in beautiful gardens with views of the sea . Friendly, flexible and accommodating hosts. Good local information. Wonderful walks straight from the cottage.
In an area of outstanding natural beauty close to the National Trust Golden Cap Estate 1 1/2 miles from the World Heritage Site coastline famous for its Jurassic period dinosaur and ammonite fossils and exposed in the cliffs and at low tide. Behind the cottage is another National Trust area, Hardown Hill, which offers impressive views in all directions. Ideal for walkers of all types, but most of the beauty spots can also be reached by car.
