About Randy Warren
This is not really me but it is my son. It was such a great fish that I had to show it . I was born in Ashland in 1951. My grandfather used to bring me to Hyatt lake every summer for a week of camping and fishing. When I was on one of my bike rides from Ashland I noticed a for sale sign in the grass that appeared to have been there for a long time. I jotted the number down and thought what a great place this would be should it still be for sale . As fate would have it it was . After many years of remodeling rebuilding etc. I thought what a sham that more people don't get to experience Hyatt lake as I did growing up. That is why we offer this experience for you, your family and friends.
Randy Warren purchased this Cabin in 1991
Why Randy Warren chose Ashland
It offers so much to do and is a great escape from the heat of the valley in the summer months. The cross country skiing , hiking, biking and just the remote feeling of its location . Its 1/2 mile from the Pacific Crest Trail.
What makes this Cabin unique
Rest and relaxation. A great place with clean air and water. Don't bring bottled water , as the water in the tap is as good as it gets. Watch the sunrise over the lake while having your morning coffee on the deck . Sit by the fire pit and stargaze. Go for a canoe ride on the lake. It doesn't get much better than this. Don't forget your bike. Great area for both mountain and road bikes. For those wanting to see Crater Lake, there is a back route taking you into the East entrance. It's a drive you won't want to miss. If you are into bird watching, my biology professor counted 210 different species of birds from the front deck.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Had a fantastic time, really enjoyed the seclusion of the property.
Great property, great location. Well stocked cabin. Very comfortable! Randy was very helpful and would give him six stars if we could!
A little piece of paradise
We really appreciated Randy’s wonderful cabin. Beautiful, quite and well maintained it was a pleasure to stay there...
Bats and mice!
The first night around 1 am we found out there were bats in the house. We were sleeping in the loft and scrambling to find cover. We turned on the lights and there were two bats flying around. I felt horrible for all of my panicked family members. We moved everyone into bedrooms with closed doors for the night. I called Randy in the morning to inform him of the issue and he was apathetic. He even accused us of letting the bats in the house. We were frustrated, but not going to let it get in the way of our family time. Since we couldn't resolve the bat issue, we decided everyone would sleep in bedrooms with doors. As a result, some had to sleep on the floor. The next evening, we saw a mouse scurry across the floor in the kitchen. Setup two traps and found two dead the following morning. I'm sure there are more. Extremely disappointed in the rental. I'm perfectly content paying full price to provide an honest review. The general area is beautiful, just find a better venue.
The next guests arrived and had none of the issues posted in this review. Further more they said if a 6 star rating were available that is what they would have given us . Please look at that review. Some folks just need to relize that we are on a lake in the mountains . And yes there are many crittets. That said I did offer these folks a full refund for thier troubled stay . They declined They also had plenty of beds even shutting the door with the reported batts in the one bedroom. They just elected to not use them. I might also mention that non of my othet guests have had issues with mentioned critters. Our reviews are all five stars with a couple of fours. Housekeeping keeps a keen eye out for any pest problems knowing its a ongoing mountain situation. Housekeeping always informs me of any issues , non have been reported . Its worth mentioning that the last guests left housekeeping at large tip for a job well done. Hyatt lake lodge is a mountain retreat. I would also add that we had three professional pest control companies come to remove the said bats and none were found. In response to me acussing the guest that I accused him of letting the bat in I only ask if he had opened the two French doors leading to the deck that face the lake which could have explained how the said bats may have gotten in.
Very nice property
Very nice spacious log cabin. Had everything we needed. Beautiful lake view. Plenty of parking. Wifi was spotty
Great log cabin, wonderfully decorated in fishing lodge style. Lots of room, quiet and view of lake Hyatt. Host was very good.
A great site seeing drive to Crater lake thru the Klamath lake basin, One of our favorite dinning places is on the way with lakeside dinning on the Klamath . This drive should not be missed . It takes you into Crater Lake the back way.
