About Phil Dixon
Three Dixon brothers own and built this home in 1997. We spent our childhood living in Wisconsin and made Family trips to the Rocky Mountians every winter to ski. This home was built to continue the tradition of allowing our families to continue that tradition. Steve and his wife Katy reside in Michigan with his family of 3 children. Phil and his wife Janelle reside in Minnesota with his family of 2 children and Joel has been a 25 year resident of Breckenridge and lives with his wife Jill and new born child in a nearby neighborhood to this wounderful vacation home.
Phil Dixon purchased this House in 2002
Why Phil Dixon chose Blue River
Our decision to build this home needed to start with the location. Our requirements were a lot that was close and convenient to town yet offered peace and quite from the crowds of the ski resort. Mountian views and easy access to all the activitys that the area has to offer in both summer and winter were also a must. We found our lot in Blue River and construction started. Our building plans started with the need to comfortably sleep all of our families. We wanted to spare no expence in creating a vacation home that was as comfortable as our own homes. For this reason, we designed all the bedrooms to accomidate King sized beds. We also wanted a warm and comfortable environment, so we designed it to have large open spaces with two fireplaces and radient in-floor heat.

We rented the house for our family attending our son's wedding. First off, the address of the house is incorrect on the website. I had to call the owner for directions. This should be corrected. The house was not as clean as we would have liked. There were sheets in the dryer when we arrived. The windows hadn't been cleaned in awhile, the house needs to be updated, including a new washing machine. It is always nice to have instructions on how to operate the amenities in the house, which we did not have. Also, special little touches would have been nice, which we did not have. Inspite of all, we enjoyed the house and had a nice time.
We really enjoyed our time in Breckenridge! The home was absolutely beautiful, and well maintained. We would highly recommend this house, and location!
Great family time
Nice home in the mountains
Hosts were friendly and very welcoming
Great Family Vacation Home
The property and home is beautiful and clean. My family enjoyed the stay and the amenities offered. Thank you Phil Dixon, your home exceeded our expectations.
BEAUTIFUL HOME, GREAT LOCATION AND TONS OF SPACE!
We were VERY impressed with the house! We had 4 couples, 2 teenagers, 2 pets and 2 children and there was more than enough room and could have easily slept more. The Couples had their own bedrooms/bathrooms and privacy was NOT an issue. The well stocked kitchen was a pleasant surprise since we did a lot of cooking...everything needed was there! The grill was great to have. The hot tub and deck was the perfect place to wind down the day after activities. The air hockey table was a hit as well! This is a very comfortable home and the owner was very helpful concerning the home and local things to do. Our group was very impressed with the home and location...just a short drive to Breck. Thanks Phil for the info for the hike...the guys has a blast making it to the waterfall! This was a summer stay but a winter stay would be awesome here as well. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this home if you are headed to Breck and would like a beautiful, spacious, well equipped place not in the middle of the hustle and bustle but close to everything!! Would stay here again if we return to the area!
This house is amazing and very comfortable for our family. We will definitely be back. I will say the stoves and cooktops need to be updated.
