About this property

From the outside this is an imposing building with a rich history of accommodating officers of French law, but as you step into the beautiful reception area, be prepared for a surprise.

There are 4 two bedroom apartments, all spacious with king, queen or twin beds, well-equipped kitchen and large bathroom. Outside there's a private balcony and shared used of the large pool - with a shallow end of children

It's a great conversion of an old, stone, village building and one of the biggest surprises is to find such a large pool area, hidden from view of the village. Again take a look at the photos to get an idea of the great views and privacy of this property.

Within a few minutes walk of the apartment are shops, cafes, ice cream parlour, general store, restaurants, electric bike hire, tennis courts and a weekly market.

The winding roads of the Luberon, with spectacular views, are great to explore and you'll find loads of picturesque villages (Gordes, Menerbes, Maubec) on the doorstep.

Just a short drive away there's a great Sunday morning market at Coustellet and the larger town of Apt is only 15 minutes away.

There's loads to do and see in the area; St Remy-de-Provence, famous for its Roman architecture, Les Baux with its ruined castle and unique rock formations, L'Isle sur la Sorgue, famous as an antique centre and market. Also within easy reach are Pont du Gard, Avignon with the Palace of the Popes, Marseille with its famous waterfront, the Amphitheatre at Nimes and the cultured avenues of Aix-en-Provence.

If activity is your thing, this area is perfect for climbing, cycling, mountain biking, trekking, golf, tennis and swimming.

The village of Bonnieux has a rich and varied history and is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the Luberon.

In summer the village is really popular and therefore has some great restaurants and cafés. Although not very big, it has some useful and interesting shops, including bakers, butchers, grocery, pharmacy, post office and tourist information centre. There's also a local market on a Friday.

Bel appartement en plein centre, avec piscine partagée

Comme sur les photos ! Bel emplacement plutôt dans le haut de Bonnieux, un parking réservé au pied de l’ancienne gendarmerie. 2 belles chambres, un grand balcon donnant sur la piscine partagée de la résidence. Un salon avec cuisine ouverte bien agréable avec vue sur Lacoste. Buanderie dans les communs bien pratique. Christian qui nous a reçus a été adorable et charmant. Manque un peu de vaisselle et il n’y a pas de climatisation. Les courants d’air sont facilement créés car l’appartement est traversant. Très agréable séjour !

Un havre de paix

La vieille gendarmerie est un endroit tres plaisant et agréable. Tout s'est bien passé. L'appartement est idéal pour 4 et très bien décoré. Il est au coeur du village avec une vie magnifique sur la paysage. Bonnieux est un très beau village.

We liked the position on the first floor and the thick walls so the apartment was relatively cold in this very hot summer... We liked the atmosphere and the central position within the village: everything was very close - so the car just could stay at our parking...

We loved the super old fashioned french bakery at walking distance and the apartment was lovely! Nice views, nicely shaped rooms, tasteful and useful decor and fit out! Oh, and our kids loved the pool!
We liked it a lot! The village is sweet, the apartment was nice, christian, the concierge was sweet and attentive. The area is beautiful. No complaints! it was all good (except for the boiling hot temperatures... but that`s climate change, hei, and nothing to blame a holiday destination for... ??)
