The property is amazing located along the St. Lawrence river. Enjoyed watching the ships and beautiful sunrises. Lucy Crosby was incredibly gracious and was a pleasure to meet.
I would rent to these nice folks again. They were very quiet renters, extremely polite and ever so neat and tidy. I never would have known they were in my rental.
You could not ask for a better view and location. However I believe we were the first arrival for the season and a few items were missed. Minor issues, but added up to a less than perfect rating.
Thank you very much for enjoying our spectacular view and great location. As you stated there was something missing. I did discover the bridge pass was not provided and I deeply apologize for that oversight which I intend to reimburse you for.
Trusting all other conveniences were provided and if they were not you were provided an immediate contact phone number of which you never used.
I am disappointed that you did not contact us for any of your specific inconveniences.
Thank you Mr. Fischer
Sincerely, Mrs Lucy Crosby
Excellent River Views
We loved our stay on Millionaires Row. It was such a great location. We were able to sit on the balcony and watch all kind of watercraft go by. We saw freighters, tour boats, historic boats, etc. Lou's place has a very nice dock which we were able to swim off of. The water is very clear and very cold but refreshing. Lou was great to deal with. She has a wonderful place with very nice and helpful neighbors.
Wellesley Island is a short drive from the town of Alexandria Bay. You have to go across the bridge to get to a grocery store. There is a little carryout on the island to get the bare necessities though. We were able to cook many of our meals in the kitchen. Go to Thursday happy hour at the Thousand Island Country Club. It's just a short walk from the condo. If you drive to the other end of Wellesley Island, you will find a cute little ice cream shop. We would suggest taking a boat tour through the islands. It's so worth it to see the castles and all of the other islands. Make sure to take the tour of Boldt Castle. You won't be disappointed. You can also rent a boat at the Thousand Island Country Club. It's a nice way to see the islands at your leisure.
We would certainly stay here again and will recommend Lou's place to our friends!
My wife and 3 grown children had the pleasure of staying 5 wonderful nights at the Wellesley Island chalet. This beautifully restored and kept property was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The owner and the accommodations made you feel welcome and comfortable. The views from the balconey were incredible and the location is well situated to quickly and easily reach the many tours, shops and restaurants in the area. We had a wonderfully comfortable stay, would recommend this property and hope to be able to visit again.
This is the finest highly respectable clean cut family ever and we welcome them back anytime.
Amazing Family Vacation
Beautifully maintained property, with friendly neighbors and one of the best locations on the river made for an enjoyable stay. The condo is spacious, well maintained and nicely furnished. The owner was very attentive before and during the stay. We've stayed at a number of places on the river over the years and the Chalet ranks high on our list.
The Chalet is located on the main channel of the St Lawrence river very close to Boldt Castle. Wellesley Island is an island that you can drive to (about 18 miles long and 8 miles wide) and the Chalet and the adjoining area is referred to as 'Millionaires Row'. You can jump right off our dock and swim in the crystal clear water also perfect for fishing, boating, diving and sighting beautiful yachts and freighters and cruise ships from around the world. Take a scenic walk to golf, casual or fine dining. Boat dock accomodates a 27 ft boat along with a ski doo or canoe. Shopping and entertainment are nearby by boat or car. Tour the castle, or see beautiful Victorian homes while the children play in the park. At the Thousand Island State Park you can attend nature lectures, hiking and boating. Miniture golf and race cars and activities for the kids are just off the island as well as shopping and numerous restaurants.
