I am a 54 year old retired law enforcement officer. I enjoy nature and the woods and have grown to love Pine Mountain Lake. I am sure you will too. There are places to swim and fish within walking distance of the home and during summer months a water taxi will take you around the lake and to the marina for ice cream and snacks. It's a lot of fun. There are hiking trails as well just across the street that wind through the oaks.
Meghan purchased this House in 1984
Why Meghan chose Groveland
I like this property because of its location. It's on the corner lot with big oak tress for shade, great views, open sky to enjoy the stars at night, and privacy from the lack of other homes close by. It's comfortable, well maintained home that has everything you need to enjoy your vacation at a reasonable value. It's not far from Sacramento or San Francisco. Give it a try! I am confident you will be pleased you did.

Second stay, the right home for a base outside Yosemite
We have stayed here twice. It’s perfect for our family of five with little ones. Also had my dad and there were still two open beds in the loft.
Groveland is the first main town outside of Yosemite (Tioga road) with grocery and more.
Hosts are responsive, helpful, and non intrusive. Perfect mix.
Really good value.
We had a great week staying at this property! Very nice location, walking distance to fishing, beach and more. Deers!
House full of everything, dishes, towels, bedding, extra blankets and so on. Very nice backyard. We will definately be back! Thank you for letting us staying in your cozy cabin!
Peaceful and very nice area of pine Mountain.
We had a nice time.
Great guests. Would definitely have them book with us again.
We enjoyed our stay at Pine Mountain very much. We had a few days in Yosemite, which is a short drive away and we spent a few days relaxing in the house and at the lake. Overall it was exactly what we needed and the kids loved it as well. There is plenty of space, we didn't use the upstairs at all.
One negative was that the floor was dirty. It had swept but did not look to have been mopped in a while. After mopping it a few times we felt comfortable enough to let our baby crawl around.
We would be back and recommend this as a good base to explore Yosemite in a relaxed manner.
Could use some attention.
We enjoyed our stay. We did some cleaning upon our arrival. Front porch was not clean as requested in checkout requests. Heater was in middle of floor in side dining room. Wiped up some water on kitchen floor with paper towel which showed the floor was not clean. When putting some groceries in cupboard, found it dirty. And when we went to use bbq, it was not clean. So after doing some cleaning ourselves, we settled in and had a good time. Bedrooms and baths were clean as was the bedding.
I was surprised to hear that you had to clean when you arrived as my partner and I were at the home shortly before your visit cleaning the porches and surrounding property. My cursory inspection of the home seemed to be tidy and in order. I’ll be sure to look at the items you mentioned.
I appreciate your feedback as it helps us provide a better experience to our guests.
Lovely location for winter Yosemite excursions
Responsive to the only issue we encountered. Space was far larger than we expected. Interior was nice and we enjoyed our stay.
Thank you for booking with us. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay.
Besides the many activities going on at Pine Mountain Lake the house
is an easy 30 miles drive to the North Gate of Yosemite National Park. Now bus service is available daily in the summer from Groveland to Yosemite and back.
Also within driving distances are many Gold Rush Towns including Jamestown and Columbia. Jamestown has gold panning and the Train Museum and it's steam train excursion. Columbia State Park is a preserved and active Gold Rush town with stage coach rides, an old fashioned candy making shop where they still
make candy, blacksmith shop, gold panning and many other old time
shops and activities.
Sonora is the county seat and has many old buildings plus shopping
Black Oak Casino and many wineries in Murphy's are also within driving
