Amazing and Disappointing
On arriving to the property we (5 of us) where blown away by the view. The house is very tired and needs attention. Some tips we recommend. Bring your own washing detergent, washing basket and pegs as enough for half a wash. Maybe don't use the washing machine as so old and powder sticks all through out the clothes. The clothes line is situated in an extremely dangerous and hazardous area. Lawns over grown. Vegetation growing up through deck which we cleared as this was a slip hazard. Bring your own bin liner as one supplied. Bring dishwasher powder, Bring ice trays as there is none. Bring a set of knives as the knives supplied are inadequate. Cutlery amount inadequate. No WiFi. No pressure in the main shower, and sink really difficult to wash hands through poor positioning of the taps on suite was fine. Be careful of the main window in the lounge as there clearly was a door there. 2 of us walked into window. Solved this by putting chairs there. There are signs near all taps saying use water sparingly, which we all did however main toilet keeps running after flush until you fix it. This was not entirely followed so a lot of water wastage as none of us where plumbers. The main bedroom light when turned on had a live current sparking through it. Maybe check your life insurance, unbelievably dangerous. Had to only use bedside lamp. A large glass panel on verandah is slightly loose as the seal is missing watch out you don't accidentally lean on this. The veggie chiller in the fridge freezers all the veggies. Bring your own non-stick pan as there are none. Not all elements on stove work and fan in oven does not work. No oil no salt and pepper. So bring as well.
Beds all really comfy with plenty of pillows. There is also plenty of toilet paper. Kayak's where fantastic this was appreciated.
Overall we had a great time there and provided all the missing things ourselves.
What an absolutely amazing place to stay. We love Russell but even more now. Highlight of the trip for me were the kayaks across the bay. Thanks so much for a brilliant long weekend. 😍
Thank you for staying, come back again soon
Positively Breath Taking
We really enjoyed our stay, so relaxing in this lovely home. The view is amazing. Beds were comfortable, this home had everything we needed. We would definately stay here again.
Fabulous Place to stay
Gorgeous, the views are amazing, could sit all day and relax looking out over the bay. We really enjoyed our stay. This place had everything we needed. Loved the walk along the private beach below the house.
Beautiful view, house and facilities tired
Russell is a wonderful town, lots of walks with breathtaking views. This house has amazing views from the deck which is also a sun trap. The house is a great size for groups large and small and perfect for those travelling with a dog. On the downside the house is tired and there are a lot of things not working, eg few lights, tv, hob. Charge for cleaning is high, especially as you are expected to strip beds, clean and vacuum when you leave and it wasn’t overly clean when we arrived.
A wasted opportunity
A glorious view and restful environment.
It was spoiled by difficult access to the house, impose access to the private beach thru a building site, and an array of small faults in the house including:-
A broken bed
One stove hob not working
Stained and off putting carpet in bathroom.
We had no confidence anything would work
As I say a waster opportunity and I would never use the service again
