House, 3 Beds, 2 Baths, mountain lake views balconies open fire wifi
I am semi retired and move between Queenstown and Sydney, where my family live. I love scenery and gardens and find Queenstown an ideal place to enjoy with family and friends.
Adelle purchased this House in 2000
Why Adelle chose Queenstown
We fell in love with Queenstown after staying just one night in 1968. We love the location and after all this time, it is still beautiful. We have been able to share this with our family and friends and now open it to select guests.
What makes this House unique
Our Home is on the Queenstown Hill above the town where you can relax inside or outside on one of the numerous decks and enjoy the views and scenery. Our Home has it all...luxury, comfort, views, privacy. We have modified our Home to make it comfortable and cosy and it is a pleasure to be in, regardless of the season.

Beautiful Queenstown views
This lovely home is exactly as represented on the VRBO site. The house is quite comfortable and the views are awesome. We enjoyed our breakfasts out on the deck overlooking the harbor. I would definitely stay there again.
great place for adult family to get together
Fantastic house amazing views
We loved our week here. The house is a easy ( but steep) walk from Queenstown centre with beautiful views, privacy and a lovely garden. Plenty of space for a family of five and very well appointed. Thank you for letting us stay
Million Dollar Views, Needs Upgraded Interior
Our communication with Adelle (owner) and Julia (manager) was fantastic, very prompt responses to my emails and requests. The property had a fantastic view of Queenstown and the lake, especially for the New Years Eve fireworks. The VRBO pictures are very nice, but a bit misleading. The common areas are large and very nice. The bathrooms and kitchen are 1980’s vintage which for a few days rental are not a problem, unless you’re interested in more modern furnishings. My wife had an injury to her leg which made using the tight master shower a real challenge; I would not recommend it to someone wheelchair bound. Overall, we had a good time at the property, but a little disappointed with baths and kitchen.
Amazing views in family home
This is the best stay we have had yet in New Zealand. Great location. The views are to die for. Didn’t want to leave the house so we cooked breakfast and dinners, drank wine and soaked up the views.
Superlative views, tons of space, super stocked pantry!
We enjoyed our stay at Adelle's place immensely. It's huge! We had lots of space to not be on top of each other and every window had spectacular views. Wonderful variety of heating options gave each person in our party a way to be comfortable.
Comfortable beds, W/D in good working order, several outdoor patio options to enjoy the view and air.
Loved being up so high above the city - it was quiet and peaceful yet a quick jot to the city below for dining, shopping, groceries, etc. Private driveway parking off the street.
Lovely gardens full of roses that smelled heavenly.
I'm a cook, and this place was a dream! A pantry stocked for cooking - spices, oils, a wide variety of condiments - even flours, corn starch, baking soda, etc. for baking (but I could not find a muffin tin or cookie sheet or loaf / cake pans). Even a break maker with flours, yeast and instructions. I didn't realize what a rarity that would be in AirBNB's until later in our travels in NZ where some did not even provide salt! So if you love to cook, this is the place to fix a meal in and enjoy it on the patio or in the dining room overlooking the cit, water & mountains. Plenty of dishware and glassware, BBQ grill.
This place could easily accommodate sleeping for 3 couples with room to spare. So nice having 2 powder rooms on top of the 2 full baths.
Generous provisions for hot beverages (coffees, teas, hot cocoa). Some cereals and honey, too, but be sure to bring your own breakfast provisions (milk, eggs, bread, butter, etc.)
We would definitely stay there again.
P.S. out of respect for the pristine off white carpets we took off our shoes upon entering and padded about in our socks and slippers. With the heated floors and lush carpets it was totally comfy to do so.
We feel that having extras, like spices and sauces etc for guests is not hard to do, and can make a huge difference to your enjoyment. As it is our Home and not just set up for rental, there are a lot of personal touches and everything is geared for comfort and relaxation.
There are baking pans, mixers and everything that is needed for baking and gourmet cooking. ( I'll have to make sure they can be more easily found.)
There is no nicer place to dine than on our balcony, where it is quiet, being above the town, overlooking the Lake and also enjoying our garden.
