We had a fantastic weekend at the cabin. The cabin has gorgeous long range views off the deck and sitting in the living room. It is far enough away from everything that we didn't see a single person at the cabin, but stores are close by for supplies. Highly recommend this cabin.
Great mountain home
This place feels like you are really out on your own. That said it is beautiful and the drives to Lake Lure, Black Mountain, and Asheville were really easy. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
If you want a gorgeous view and privacy, this cabin is for you!
Such beauty wherever you look.
So, so much fun. House is beautiful with absolutely gorgeous views of the mountains.
Everything was very smooth from initial contact all the way through end of stay.
We did this as a very last minute Spring Break excursion, and despite the fact that it stormed just about the entire time we were there, we were happy and cozy nestled up in this cabin the whole time! The house was stocked with games, facepaints, dvds, firewood, and everything we needed to make a fun day cooped up! We even roasted marshmellows inside! We did enjoy some time in the yard and added a fairy house, so keep an eye out kids! The fairies came to visit us our last night there! The cabin is beautifully decorated with just enough charm to make it warm, while still remaining clean and free of clutter! A true oasis! Thanks so much, we can’t wait to visit again.
Sincerely, The Moore Fam Bam

If you enjoy scenic drives, head out of Lake Lure on Alt-US 74 (Memorial Highway). This stretch of road has 14 hairpin turns and runs through the Hickory Nut Gorge communities of Chimney Rock Village, Bat Cave, and Gerton. Continue toward Asheville to pick up what many consider the most beautiful length of road in this country, the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you have not traveled any this of road, it is something to add to your bucket list.
Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less an 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.
The North Carolina Arboretum is an arboretum and botanical garden located within the Bent Creek Experimental Forest of the Pisgah National Forest, just southwest of Asheville. It is 56.2 miles from the home and is well worth a visit.
