The owner Vieri Franchini Stappo is born and grown in Florence, in the family palace in via Leopardi until he graduated in Economics at Università degli Studi di Firenze. Then he moved to Rome where he is working like film director.
Vieri purchased this Apartment in 1850
Why Vieri chose Sant' Ambrogio
The house is in the most beautiful residential area in the historical center of Florence, known as Piazza D'Azeglio(square with park suitable for children). It is a twelve minutes walk from Santa Croce Cathedral, the Synagogue,Galleria dell'Accademia (Michelangelo's David), Santissima Annunziata church, the Duomo, the Uffizzi gallery, or Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Della Signoria. It is a very Florentine part of the town; where real Florentines still live.
What makes this Apartment unique
The day market of Sant'Ambrogio where you can find all sort of delicious food is a few hundred metres away. Twenty metres away you have one of the few organic food shops of Florence. If you woudn't cooking, this area is plenty of charming little restaurants of all sorts and wine shops. The world-renown Gelateria Veneta and Vivoli (ice cream shop) are only e few block away. Shops of all sorts are only a minute away and on the last week-end of each month the Flea Market is 250 metres away. Yet, the area is very quiet.

We were a family of 9 and had plenty of space. Location was walking distance to most everything . A wonderful local restaurant and markets are less than blocks away. Thank You Vieri !
Many thanks to you! Come again soon!
The location is perfect and the apartment is very nice with large bedrooms with n a charming building.
VIERI was very kind and helpful.
We definitely recommend it.
Perfect for being in Florence!
Perfect location! While the center of the city, the museums, the Duomo, etc. are only a short 12-15 minute stroll, the area of this apartment is plentiful with shops, restaurants, coffee, etc. one feels as though you are part of the real Florence. Very much worth the cost.
You are perfect guests! Come again soon!
Great family vacation.
Veri was easy to work with and promptly answered any question that we may have had. We had 8 people and did great. The property was very secure and clean. Loved the washer/dryer and elevator.
Many thanks perfecto hosts come again!
Great place for a family to stay
Vieri was very helpful. My family stayed there for a family wedding and arrived at different times. There were no issues. The space was very attractive and clean. It was also close to everything we needed. Would go back again!
Many thanks! I'm waiting for you. Come back soon to Florence.
Peaceful, luminous retreat in the city
Our family of six people across three generations felt completely at ease and at home in this unique, gorgeous, expansive, luminous space. There was room to spread out for privacy, as well as airy, bright, and welcoming places for coming together. There is an elevator as well as a beautiful staircase. We had a heatwave in Europe during our stay and we had a cool, clean, and peaceful place to return to. The furnishings are a tasteful combination of antiques and simple, modern pieces. The owner was not in town when we arrived; Marilu, the housekeeper, welcomed us and was a perfect host. The neighborhood is a little away from the most touristy center of town, which was a welcome respite for us, though we could still walk everywhere. We all loved our stay here and would be delighted to go back.
Thank you come again soon!
Next to the beautiful Piazza d'Azeglio, one of the very few children playgrounds in the green, and to popular shopping and restaurant areas of Sant'Ambrogio and Piazza Beccaria.10 minutes walking to the Academia museum (Michelangelo's David) and 15 mm to the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, and shopping area via Calzaioli Tornabuoni etc.
