A great barn conversion with loads of space for 6 of us celebrating 2 special birthdays. Beautiful outlook . Very peaceful. Well equipped. Very clean. We had a warm welcome by the owner. Communication and check in were easy. We'd all be very happy to visit again. Thank you.
I would like to say a big thank you to my recent guests for their 5 star review. It is great to get this kind of feedback as a lot of time and energy goes into making my guests' stay a comfortable and memorable one. They would be more than welcome to visit again.
This was a lovely property for our family get together. The owner has put a lot of thought into providing everything needed for a comfortable stay, as well as a basket of welcoming goodies to share. Everything is of a good quality and the property is in a beautiful area with lots to see and do. Thank you, we had a wonderful stay.
We have just returned from a lovely holiday at Old Orchard Barn. It is in a wonderful setting , the property is beautiful and it was extremely well equipped and comfortable. There is so much to do and see in the area and you do not have to travel for miles to do so. We enjoyed mini golf, canoeing, cycling and Go Ape. It was lovely to return to the house and enjoy the evening sun in the garden and on the veranda. A perfect holiday- thanks Claire
Relaxing few days away
Well equipped home with a tasty welcome pack! Lovely walks locally and ate at The Bell, an award winning pub a few miles away at Skenfrith, the most amazing meal! House was very comfortable but phone coverage (with our provider) and wi fi wasn’t great.
Family holiday on the Welsh border
Had a lovely week’s holiday here for three adults and four children in August. The children loved the amount of space inside and outside to be exuberant in. The location was beautiful, with gorgeous views over rolling hills. The property itself was superb – good sized bedrooms and bathrooms, well-appointed and pleasingly decorated. It was a very pleasant place to relax in if it rained, and an ideal base from which to explore when feeling energetic. The arrow slit-like windows made it feel like staying in a castle (of which there are several to visit in the area). The kitchen was well-equipped and the welcome hamper was a nice touch. Communication was polite and prompt from the owner. There was an extensive selection of leaflets advertising things to do in the area and we appreciated a couple of OS maps on the bookshelf.
I would like to thank my recent guest for his 5 star review and I am very pleased to hear that their holiday was a great success. We are very lucky to be surrounded by such glorious countryside and as mentioned there are numerous attractions nearby to visit and enjoy, including many English/Welsh border castles. I would also like to thank my guest for leaving the barn in a very clean and tidy condition, this make my life so much easier. Please do come again, you would be very welcome.
We have used this property for the last 7 years and have always been more than satisfied. It is a gorgeous property in a fantastic location. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review. It is great to have returning guests who appreciate the accommodation and the location . Hope to see you all again next year.
This converted Grade II listed 18th Century stone threshing barn is situated 4 miles from the historic border town of Monmouth, in the picturesque Monnow Valley. Monmouth, the birthplace of Henry V and Charles Rolls, is in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty known as the Wye Valley. Close by is the beautiful Royal Forest of Dean. The Cathedral City of Hereford, on the River Wye, home of the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library(www.herefordcathedral.org/visit-us/mappa-mundi-1), is about 16 miles to the North and Ross-on-Wye, the birthplace of English Tourism, is some 10 miles distance. The Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park are within easy reach for the enthusiastic walker, with Brecon and its Cathedral close by, less than an hours’ drive away. The Glamorgan Heritage Coast, Cardiff Bay, Swansea and the Gower Peninsular are also within easy reach for glorious days out. There is some beautiful local countryside surrounding this barn with lots of footpaths and many walks. En-route there are some lovely country pubs and fine restaurants, eg The Bell at Skenfrith (award winning).
