Why Omar Muñoz/Michael Haskell chose Sayulita
It's size, views and unique open architecture are just spectacular. Included in the price we provide a full time staff with house keeping 6 days a week.
What makes this Villa unique
The views are simply breathtaking. THere is a birds eye view of all the amazing sites and colors of Sayulita. In Sayulita location is one of the most important factors in choosing a vacation rental. Villa Concordia is located in the best possible area and a block above the Plaza, restaurants and shopping and a 5 minute walk from the beach. Often times people coming to Sayulita will rent houses that are far from the plaza with very difficult access, we are very convenient located on Calle Marlin a dead end street with very little traffic. In reviews of the property we have had 99% 5 star ratings the only complaints we have had are because of night time noise. This is a part time complaint usually associated with holiday revelers, Christmas, New Years, Semana Santa (Easter), and various event such as Sayulita Days, Virgin of Guadalupe Day, and September 16th Independence Day. This is a problem which basically affects every house in Sayulita. Please ask the Property Manager for ear plugs and turn on a fan which seems to mitigate the sound pretty well.

Great Family Spot
This is a wonderful home and property, with plenty of room for family and friends to gather on the patio, but also enough room for everyone to spread out with their own space as needed. The property is immaculate and well maintained! We loved the colorful kitchen and sitting around the large dining room table located on the patio. We cooked in several nights, using the outdoor grill - it was great! Two minor downsides, if you are traveling with light sleepers, it will be a good idea to bring ear plugs as the noise from the revelry downtown could be quite loud - or better yet, just go downtown and join in! Also, the walk up the hill from town to the house is steep, and there are lots of stairs - so it might not be the best fit for older people or people with mobility issues. Omar the property manager was awesome, he responded immediately to all of our requests and questions, and arranged tours and a golf cart rental as well. The daily housekeeping staff were attentive, kinds and did a great job! We would stay at this property again!
Beautiful spacious open air property - with daily service
Omar and his team were very hospitable and maintained the property nicely. This is a very nice location with ocean views from many rooms. We will have this Villa Concordia high on or list for future trips.
Thanks so much Jereme , we look forward to seeing you and your family back at Villa Concordia.
Really amazing place. Wonderful view and spot.
We were there for 4 days and nights. Omar was fantastic and we truly had a blast!
This is our second time to Villa Concordia.
This is our second time to Villa Concordia. This time I treated my family to a reunion and introduce them to Sayulita. We love this house - works great for a big family. They added a new suite at the top covered patio - what a nice surprise - my brother loved it! The shower is especially nice with so much pressure. Omar and the cleaning staff were so wonderful and helpful. We will likely stay here again!
Thanks Mick, You've been great repeat guest, we hope to see you again. Thanks, Michael
Incredible views but house needs significant updating
Villa Concordia boasts a perfect location, amazing views, and a quirky layout. However, the house requires a lot of updating to keep up with similarly priced rentals in the area. There are some lovely outdoor areas but they are not furnished in a comfortable way to enjoy the incredible views (for example, much of the furniture pictured here is not in the house now - the entire top palapa area has nothing in it besides a hammock). Some of the furniture is broken (daybed in the kitchen area has dangerous pieces of splintered wood, chaise propped up with rocks), bedding and cushions are dingy, rooms smell musty and showers take a very long time to get hot. Importantly, the kitchen faucet was an inadequate trickle, and lacks hot water entirely. Given the chronic issues with people contracting GI related illness while in Sayulita, it was a big concern to our group to wash our dishes and utensils in hot water; thus we spent a great deal of time boiling water to do that every day. Despite that, 9 out of the 11 of us were sick during the trip or after our return home.
Additional issues - the house description states that there is a washer dryer available for guests, but this was almost always in use by housekeeping. The dryer did not seem to work, and use of these machines often caused interruption in the power supply to the house. We were looking forward to using the pool, but the house got no direct sun during the week we were there - it's probably a great asset in the hotter months, but we were not prepared for the lack of sunshine and warmth while sitting in the common areas. And, as other reviewers have noted, the noise from the downtown bars is substantial. No ear plugs would have remedied this - it was very loud, as if they were in the street directly outside the house, and it went until dawn. It was impossible to have windows open, and we got very little sleep.
I would not recommend Villa Concordia to families with small children - many of the bedrooms are in different buildings within the house, many steep stairs without handrails, and the hygiene issues would concern me. There were a few local cats that made themselves at home despite our efforts to discourage them.
The house manager Omar is very helpful and friendly person. We would have skipped daily maid services if they could come in every 3rd day and actually clean things, and change out towels, etc.. The crew of people coming and going was disruptive to our efforts to relax.
I'm very sorry this group of guests were disappointed with certain aspects of the house. First off the group stayed during the week between Christmas and New Years, as we make clear in our listing this week and Semana Santa, Mexican Easter week can be very noisy. This is not just in this house but in all of Sayulita and we really have no control over it.
The entire house has hot water and plenty of it and the kitchen has it's own dedicated electric water heater which one of the guests had unplugged for whatever reason. This particular week was unseasonally cold and windy and the pilot light blew out on one of the water heaters several times and Omar the Property manager came to the house immediately when he learned of it to relight it.
All of the outdoor furniture pictured in the listing was still there and usable although one of the chaise lounges had a wheel broken of by the previous guests kids jumping on it and it being Christmas week we couldn't find a carpenter to come and fix it so we propped it up with a rock.
The upper palapa does have furniture, there are built in benches surrounding the whole deck as well as a table, chairs, a bench and a hammock.
We are one of the only houses in Sayulita to have dailey maid/cleaning service included and no extra fee, but if the guest didn't want it they should have mentioned it and we wouldn't have had them come. The cleaning staff comes between 9:00-12:00 am and during this period they are using the two washing machines and the dryer (which works) are being used to clean the guests bedding and towels, after the cleaning staff leaves, the laundry facilities are available for the rest of the day and night for the guests personal use. These guests were part of a large group attending some sort of wedding celebration and many friends of the renters were gathering at Villa Concordia and it seems there wasn't enough seating furniture to accommodate them. I encourage interested parties to read our other reviews. It was failed to be mentioned that during this period Sayulita was having a water shortage and many of the other vacation rentals were without water. At great expense we have installed 15,000. liters of water storage so we didn't have this problem. Omar alway responds quickly to any complaint and is very vigilant about problems.
Cockadoodledoo, Sayulita, We love you
We rented Villa Concordia for my wife’s 50th birthday. This was our first stay in Sayulita, but some in our group have been here many times before. The house is comfortably accommodative to our group of 10 for the week. Omar and Moura were amazing. We had some threat of Hurricane Willa during our stay. Omar’s constant communication and extra attention to detail for our safety was impressive. He offered us use of some of his personal space in the event that we needed it for shelter – thankfully we didn’t need the bat cave.
As mentioned by other reviewers – the home is on and build into a hill. The steep walk up the hill and the stairs do make things a challenge. The views are worth the hike. I would strongly recommend a golf cart or two for your stay. The home is conveniently located to town center and beach.
After reading some reviews, we brought ear plugs (and recommend this) for sleeping as sometimes the town parities a bit harder than we can. We also found the nearby roosters a wonderful replacement to our traditional alarm clock – however they appear to have trouble telling time – random crowing. All of these things are charming additions to our experience. We loved being close to town, the action and would not hesitate to visit Villa Concordia again!
I can’t say enough positive about Omar – he made the stay enjoyable for our group. His arrangement with airport transportation (Thanks Jovany & Ricardo), communication from local officials during hurricane, and friendly smile made all the difference.
Hello Stephanie, Thank you for being such great guests especially with the threat of Hurricane Willa. It can be a bit unnerving, I know because I have been through the experience with Hurricane Patricia and we were prepared to stay in the bat cave as well.
Omar is a great Property Manager and I'm glad he was there to provide some comfort and assurance. He said your group were great sports, and we all hope you can be our guests again in the future, hopefully under more pleasant conditions. Thank You, Michael, Omar and the Staff at Villa Concordia
