About Jeff and Kathy Davies
Welcome to Sugar Bear in beautiful Cobbly Nob. We recently purchased our piece of the Smokies and invite you to come share our home with us. My wife and I reside near Lafayette, Indiana (GO PURDUE) and are avid Boilermaker and Colts FANS.Enjoy your stay!!!! Jeff and Kathy
Jeff and Kathy Davies purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Jeff and Kathy Davies chose Pigeon Forge
After numerous trips to Gatlinburg, we decided that this wonderful area was to be our home away from home. The southern hospitality from all the local residents made us feel welcome. Welcome home and enjoy your stay.
What makes this Cabin unique
The security offered at Cobbly Nob, the paved roads, golf at the bottom of the mountain and clear mountain streams within 5 minutes made this the ideal location for us. You don't have to deal with all the Pigeon Forge traffic, ( Take I-40 around to 321 and come back west a piece.) We like the peace and quiet here and know you will too!

Love Sugar Bear
The cabin was everything we were looking for. Very clean and comfortable. Beautifully decorated but not overboard like a couple of cabins we have stayed previously. Just wish the fireplace actually put out some heat. Don't get me wrong, it works but all the heat goes up the chimney. My wife is one of those people that starts hunting coat at anything below 70 and she just loves sitting in front of a fire. This is where you find her at home during the cooler months. If you are planning on doing much cooking you may consider bringing at least a frying pan with you but that was a good reason for me to buy another one at the lodge store. Thanks again for sharing your mountain home with us and I hope that we can reserve it again sometime. Please let house keeping know that we wasn't able to leave things a little cleaner but the cabin lost power on the morning we were leaving. According to the gentleman at the guard office a tree had feel and hit some lines causing the transformer to throw the switch.
An idyllic retreat
The quiet natural atmosphere of the Sugar Bear cabin was perfect for 3 days of unwinding from stressful routines of life.
I have only two suggestions for improvement:
1. provide an oven friendly roasting pan
2. Move the king size bed at least 6 more inches away from the wall.
Nice place for 2
We have stayed in the Cobbly Nob area several times. Sugar Bear didn’t disappoint!
We had a very nice time at this cabin. We were very comfortable & liked the double sinks in the bathroom. Always felt like we were coming home at the end of the day. Loved having breakfast on the deck in the morning. Such a private location which was great.
We gave one star on amenities only because we are avid tennis players and chose this location based on the fact tennis was listed as being on property. When we asked two different security guards about it, we were told the tennis court (1)hadn't been used in years & was not playable. We finally found it and they were absolutely correct; you can barely climb the hill behind the pool off Golf Creek to get to it and it had fallen trees all over it. Tennis shouldn't be advertised if not available. We would have rented somewhere else if we had known.
Carolyn, we are so sorry about your experience with the tennis courts in Cobbly Nob.
We are not tennis players and did not realize that they were in disrepair and not being kept up.
We are taking that amenity off of our listing immediately.
Again we are deeply sorry and will keep a closer eye on the amenities we list at our property.
Sincerely, Jeff and Kathy
Peaceful and quiet
This cabin is perfect for a quiet getaway. Jeff and Kathy were wonderful to deal with
Very good cabin with all the necessary to had a very good vacation week. Only one observation, the front desk need a little TLC.
Across the street from the Smokey Mountain National Park. The main entrance is in Gatlinburg. Easy access to the cabin from I-40 rather than driving through all the congestion of Pigeon Forge.
