A Charming, Relaxed Retreat In Boulder Creek; In The Heart Of The Santa Cruz Red
About Judy M
We are both retirement age, but not retired. Jim keeps this house and property humming. There is always something to do. Judy is a financial coach and works from home, also.
Judy M purchased this Apartment in 2001
Why Judy M chose Boulder Creek
Because it's in a beautiful, convenient neighborhood and it's very close to our daughter and her family. We could see from the first how this house would lend itself to a conversion to a studio apartment and a separate living area for us.
What makes this Apartment unique
We love the trees! Coming here from So Cal, we hadn't ever lived in such a verdant setting. The animals; deer, raccoon, squirrels, coyotes, bob cats, all living around us is were exceptional in Ventura. Here we see them all the time. It's a different perspective on life.

Our family was warmly welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay. The property is beautiful and close to Big Basin State Park, Santa Cruz, and San Jose. Kitchenette has everything you need to prepare a meal. What we appreciated the most was that they clearly welcomed our young, active, noisy boys. Thank you for a lovely stay!
We enjoyed having you here as much as you did! Please come again. You are all perfectly charming! :)
Great stay, friendly host
Nothing to complained about, we enjoyed our time there immensely.
Cute little place in a beautiful setting
We had a great stay! The room was cozy and the home owners were super helpful and friendly, they even met us at the home and greeted us when we arrived. The home was clean and the perfect size for two people. The location was a little ways out but the homeowners gave great directions and we always felt like the area was safe. I would highly recommend a stay at the property and would book with them again.
Quaint little apartment
Lovely suite tucked away in the woods with all the amenities we needed for a weekend in Big Basin Redwoods.
A fabulous stay with wonderful host and hostess!
Beautiful private and can’t wait to return!!!
Would highly recommend this magical place!
Judy made us feel so welcomed. She prepared everything for us nicely. The room was clean, supplies like bowls, utensils, and foil were provided, and there was even an air mattress for extra persons. The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful. Although the road is narrow, it’s like a forest wonderland.
We are located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, 25 minutes from the city of Santa Cruz, on the northern edge of the Monterey Bay. We are 1 hour north of the world famous Monterey Bay Acquarium, the city of Monterey and the Carmel and Big Sur areas. We have lots of ocean based acitvity - whale watching, touring, scuba adventures, sailing, surfing, etc. Santa Cruz was just listed by National Geographic as one of the 20 top cities in the world for surfing!
UC Santa Cruz is located here and we have numerous research and conservation projects in the area. The Seymour Marine Center and Long Marine Lab are in Santa Cruz and open for public visits. Docents lead tours daily.
Santa Cruz is also the home of Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Roller coasters, rides and games. People travel here from all over the world to play there.
Famed Mavericks surf break is about and hour and 15 minutes up the coast from us near the town of Pescadero. Hwy 1 leads north through amazing ocean scenery to San Francisco, or you can travel along the spine of the peninsula to the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge in an hour and a quarter.
Closer to Boulder Creek there is Roaring Camp - a center for historic mountain trains, tours through the redwoods and trains into Santa Cruz that leave you at the Beach Boardwalk and then return you to Felton and Roaring Camp. Kids love this, and so do the adults!
There is also a zip line adventure through the treetops at Mt. Hermon in Felton. Zip platform to platform 150 feet above the ground. One experiences the completely unseen (from the ground) ecosystem of the treetops. This is a thrilling and educational trip.
We are surrounded by numerous mountain state parks, and even more state beaches and beach parks. It's easy to escape to either venue from Treetop Haven and then return to hot showers, soft beds, and nearby restaurants to feed both your body and soul.
