The Farmer's Inn Sleeps 6 With Hilltop Views Off The Front Porch.
About Jean Bekkedal
Gary's Norwegian roots come from this beautiful area of Wisconsin where he was born. We have been on our farm 43 years. Gary was a retired teacher from Viroqua Atea Schools, while stayed home taking care of our 3 girls when young, along with the farm. Our 3 daughters & their live close, within 12 miles.
Jean Bekkedal purchased this Cabin in 2001
Why Jean Bekkedal chose Viroqua
Gary & I love this beautiful area of Wisconsin with it's many trout streams, high bluffs and deep valleys. We loved this farm because of it has wooded areas as well as crop land. The sound of birds singing wakes us in the morning, the big, beautiful sky full of nighttime stars.
What makes this Cabin unique
The Farmer's Inn was fashioned after the mountain cabins of Norway. Gary designed it & local carpenters built it. Sit on the front porch & enjoy the view. All-wood, the cabin is cozy & comfortable. Newly finished downstairs floors are beautiful.

We stayed at this a adorable cabin while visiting family in Viroqua. It was so welcoming with a Christmas tree all lit up and the fire place burning when we arrived. We will definitely be back!
Kathryn & husband were perfect guests. They left the cabin very clean & tidy, also followed the instructions for leaving the cabin. We are happy they enjoyed their visit.

Very clean and cozy. Great place. Will come back
The most adorable little cabin. Very relaxing. Hosts were amazing and enjoyed the farm.
We were happy to find the cabin clean & tidy. We enjoyed our visit with them - great cabin guests!
nice country cabin
clean, warm, welcoming
If you looked up hospitality in the dictionary, you would find Gary and Jeannie’s picture next to it. A delightful stay in a lovely cabin. The Norwegian style cabin is spacious and very clean, we had everything we needed. The weather was cold but the cabin was toasty warm. My kids fed goats, horses, cows and sheep and collected eggs from the chickens...they absolutely loved it. The Driftless area is gorgeous and Viroqua is home to farm fresh restaurants and grocery stores. We didn’t get to explore too much because it was a short stay but we will be back. It’s a perfect getaway place and Gary and Jeannie are salt of the earth people.
Wonderful Weekend Getaway
My wife, two sons, and I had a wonderful weekend at the cabin. Gary and Jean are very kind and welcoming and the kids and I had so much fun gathering eggs and feeding the chickens, goats, and sheep on Saturday morning! The location is great, just about 10 minutes from Viroqua.
Awesome stay at the cabin.
I cannot say enough positive things about Jean and Gary. That were fabulous hosts. My granddaughter was able to gather eggs, feed the goats, and sheep. She pet the cows. I’m not sure who had more fun doing this, Grace or me. The cabin is very nice and it was very clean too. Great place to stay.
