Robin's Hood has a Private Beach and opposite a golf course
About Rekha Patel
I decided to purchase the house in 2007 as a place to getaway from my busy urban life. I love Robin's Hood and the surrounding area as do my friends who come to visit. The most frequent comments from friends are about how much they love the house, views and the activities while we are up there. The golf course is adjacent to the house, an extra amenity for those who golf. My most amazing experience at Robin's Hood was seeing a family of six river otters swimming at the beach, stop and play on the riverbank. I hope that if you rent the house that you have a wonderful time.

Why Rekha Patel chose Northwood
Northwood, the area of Monte Rio the home is located in, is a really special area, there are no communities like it along the river. The house is in a rustic area but updated and modern with charming details.
What makes this House unique
Very quiet and peaceful. Great for kids also as they can hang out at the beach all day, play games on the deck. There are beaches nearby with tide pools or take a kayak ride from the private beach down the river. There is a picture on this site of the deer sighting that we had on one of our kayak rides and of the star fish we spotted at the beach.

Loved it! Great spot, we will be back!!!! Soon!
Great kitchen, great location. Beautiful views!
A great place for a river vacation
Great location, clean place with a nice layout and a beautiful view of the river. Across the street from Northwood golf course - great if you want to golf but also just a nice place to take a stroll along the road that outlines the course. Our family of 5 was very comfortable in the space and loved the location.
A good location to explore either the nearby coast or the Redwoods or the foothills/wineries.
Quiet spot w every convenience
Our family had a wonderful stay at Robin’s Hood, our second stay. The setting is gorgeous, right on the river with a big deck, kayaks and canoe. The house is roomy and very pleasant, everything you need, even beach towels. The kitchen is well stocked w spices and solid quality cooking pans, not the flimsy stuff one sometimes finds at rentals. We enjoyed our walks around the golf course to morning coffee and pastries.
Gorgeous river kayaking!
My family and I (teens and a 5 year old) had a fabulous time staying at this spacious home on the river. We saved so much money by using the kayaks that - generously - came with the house. Grilled dinners from the BBQ provided and eating at the dining table on the deck watching the stars and river - so relaxing.
The home had a wonderfully stocked kitchen full of appliances and gadgets and a huge variety of condiments.
Each bedroom was huge (especially the masterbedroom) and the bathing tub was luxuriously large and deep.
I would highly recommend this wonderful home on the beautiful Russian River and our host was warm, thoughtful, generous and quick to respond.
We loved kayaking in the river (which is in the garden of this home!) and seeing many great blue heron's and river otters.
A very peaceful location and cosy yet very spacious home.
Oh! And we loved rocking out to the karaoke machine on the TV one night!
I kind of want to keep this place a secret so I can go back often!
Thank you so much for your review, so glad you had enjoyed your time at Robin’s Hood.
A great escape from heat and California fire smoke
The house was in excellent shape and well stocked. It was a great escape from the California Fire smoke and Carson City Nevada heat.
The location is just right, not too hot(inland) and not too foggy, cold and windy(coast). I enjoyed the adjacent golf course and redwood trees.
The path to the river was a bit steep for some older folks. Also, some pruning of the trees would improve the view of the river from the deck.
All in all a great place to stay.
Thank you so much for your review. You’ll find the trees pruned if your back in the area again, on the schedule for next month.
Along the Russian River and in the heart of one of the world's finest wine producing regions. Sonoma County Beaches and city of Jennar are nearby. Amstrong Woods a state park is 3 miles from property and close to a number of Russian River Vineyards. Korbell has a lovely lunch spot overlooking vineyard just 15 minutes away. Kayak along the Russian river during the summer or in Jennar at the mouth of the river. Or simply sit back and enjoy the view from the beach/deck. Within a half hour drive to Bodega Bay or Healdsburg. Lots of festivals or wine tasting activities throughout the year. Visit the spa in Freestone or have lunch in Occidental.
