Cute and cozy cabin!
Spring Canyon Properties began restoring, designing, and building custom cabins in 1991. Our first cabin project was the restoration of our listing #492880, which was originally built in 1927. Our cabins offer guests a one-of-a-kind experience with our attention to detail, design, and decor - not to mention the beauty of the natural surroundings of Spring Creek Canyon. Each cabin is nestled on it's own parcel of land to offer privacy to each guest.
Jessica purchased this Cabin in 1991
Why Jessica chose Colonial Pine Hills
There is not a property like this anywhere in the Black Hills! Quiet, serene, and inviting - yet close to all amenities.
What makes this Cabin unique

This cabin is everything we could have hoped for and more. So quaint and charming! Full of interesting memorabilia, books, games, and all the things one needs to create the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It was cold and snowy ones particular day during our stay and we snuggled in front of the fire, napped, read, drank wine. It was our idea of heaven! Thanks for having us!
A perfect place for a perfect trip!
This was our first VRBO experience and we couldn’t be more excited to have stayed here.
The cabin was better than the pictures...fully stocked with everything you could need.
This place is a must stay - we are already looking forward to coming back!

Had an awesome time. Great comfy cabin
Great rustic cabin in the heart of the black hills and away from the hustle of life
Renting this property was very easy and it met our expectations
Just as advertised. Relaxing with charm.
The cabin was exactly what we expected. It had a rustic feel yet everything we wanted. Lot's of wildlife at the cabin. We saw sheep, wild turkeys, and rabbits on the property.
The beds were only full-sized (as advertised) but very comfortable. Plenty of pillows and towels. Water pressure was very good in the shower and plenty of hot water with tankless water heater. A/C worked very well with a Nest thermostat. It could use a little more light in the living room for reading. Light was OK if only 1 reader.
You're not in the middle of nowhere yet it still felt secluded in a way. Great location for trips to Mt Rushmore & Keystone, The Bad Lands, and Deadwood. It is a long trip for us from Oklahoma, but we enjoyed it enough we will consider a repeat in a couple of years.
Cabin is nestled in a central location overlooking Spring Canyon. The cabin is only 15 minutes to downtown Rapid City, the entrance of the southern hills attractions to include Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Needles Highway, Sylvan Lake, Harney Peak, 1880 Train, and entrance of the northern hills to include Sturgis, Deadwood, and scenic Spearfish Canyon! You will be close to all attractions and amenities yet feel like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life!
