About this property

Quiet cottage of the Perigord, 600 m away from the Villereal fortified village

Well-equipped cottage, comfortable and quiet. 600 m away from all the shops and free Internet access, beach fishing in ponds, rivers and lakes, foot or bike hikes. Villereal is in the region of fortified villages and medieval cities, between the Perigord Pourpre and the Perigord Noir. Between the valley of Dropt and the Dordogne, our region has beautiful jewels of national heritage. Medieval abbeys, castles, churches, fortified villages, Bergerac and its wines, Sarlat, Cahors, etc. Old stones lovers, discover our medieval villages, sail down the Dordogne River on barges. A medieval heritage to be discovered! The heating is an extra-fee. From our cottages, visit Monpazier, Monflanquin, Issigeac, Pujols near Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Penne d'Agenais, Bergerac and its vineyards, Monbazillac, Cahors, Sarlat and all the surrounding castles, the markets full of regional products (fruits, seasonal vegetables of the local producers, with Cep mushrooms, Foie Gras, and Tourtieres).

This cottage is well equipped, with a kitchen for 6 persons wit dishwasher, microwave, multifunction oven, freezer, refrigerator, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, ironing equipment, hair-dryer, clothes line inside and outside, garden furniture, deck chairs, barbecue, and parking by the cottage. A terrace to eat facing the countryside and bell tower of Villereal in the distance, a lawn to play and sunbath. The whole garden is fenced.

Great location and ideal for our dog
House has lots of character as it is a very old building, so don't expect too much in the way of modern comfort. Owners very friendly and helpful. They clearly wanted us to have a good experience and were very patient with our lack of French. With phone translation app, we got along fine. Kitchen is fairly well equipped. Lounge/dining area is compact but serviceable. The soft seating space is limited, but fine for two. The spacious garden area is fully fenced and secure, which was ideal for our dog. The friendly horse in the field next door likes carrots and was an added source of interest for our dog. The double bedrooms have standard double beds, which were a bit narrow for us as we have been spoiled for years with super-king size sleeping space, so we opted to use the twin room upstairs. I found the firm mattress very comfortable. My husband had trouble with his back - bed was a bit too firm for him. The house needed a lot of time with the heating on to maintain a comfortable temperature, but we were visiting in mid November, so that didn't come as a surprise. The house is easy walking distance to Villereal, which is a lovely historic bastide town (beau village) with all the services we needed, including a friendly, helpful car mechanic. We would definitely rent this property again.

Des details qui abiment le sejour
Endroit tres sympathique.
