Great casual apartment close to transit
Very nice, casual, apartment. The location was excellent, and very close walking distance to the subway system and many buses. Lots of excellent restaurants in the neighborhood. There is a (indoor) farmer's market that was open certain days a week, and some small markets where I picked up a lot of different types of prosciutto. It is very easy to get to all the tourist sites, and you get a more authentic Roman experience, instead of being stuck in the tourist area where your options are mostly overpriced bad food.
Carmen was a great host, best to contact her via email if you don't speak Italian; she had a hard time understanding me, possibly because I have an American accent. On the second to last day of the trip, our key to the apartment broke in half, and she came over within 1-2 hours of us contacting her to get the key replaced. Also, she provides lots of tips and restaurant recommendations.
The apartment is meant for people who are just need a place to sleep and want to go out to sightsee. It is a good size for 2-4 people. If you also pull out the sofa bed in the living room, it will be very tight. The refrigerator is the small dorm type fridges, with no separate freezer compartment; no way to keep a pint of gelato. It is mostly only for leftovers and keeping drinks cold. The kitchen knives needed sharpening, they were very blunted. The pots were worn out. The kitchen equipment needs replacing; you can't really cook anything with the stuff provided.
There is a small old-style CRT tv in the corner, where you can watch the local tv channels in Italian. If you bring DVDs along, I think you can watch that, but the place is not really set up for watching movies. Don't bring Blu-rays.
There is an elevator that just barely fits 1-2 people with luggage. The week we were there, there was a small military truck with two guards in military uniform outside the door every night. Sheets and towels are provided, and extra sheets to change the bedsheets. They have a bidet in the bathroom. The laundry machine is typical Europe, about half the size of one in the U.S. You can air dry your clothes on the clothing rack out on the balcony.
The apartment is VERY clean and comfortable. Location is safe and convenient. Carmen was an excellent host. I enjoyed my stay very much.

"Very nice apartment, ideal location for us, we loved the area, good supermarkets, and the best gelato store we ever had in Italy. Would return in the future, loved the close subway stop, atm locations. The owners where helpful and made everything easy. We enjoyed our two week stay.

Well-located apartment. You can easily reach wherever you want. Metro and bus station is so close. The flat is clean and has everything you need. Carmen and her husband welcomed us(2 people) very friendly and gave the useful information about the flat and the surroundings as well. Their flat made our vacation entertaining and smooth.

"Very well-placed apartment, close to metro station, bus stations (Bologna, Via Catania), supermarket, pizzeria, market, city center. The owners of the apartment are helpful, nice people. We (2 adults, 2 children) arrived on Sunday evening and they were very patient and accurate in explaining all we need for the best comfort, giving us maps and all essential information (initially we tried to book a more expensive apartment where the owners asked for a surcharge because of the time of arrival!). The apartment is clean, cosy, safe and well-equipped. Tips for travelers: from Fiumicino Airport we took FR1 train to Tiburtina Station, there we bought tourist integrated tickets in the metro station (there are ticket machines) and then one stop with Metro B to Bologna station. If you need left luggage facility, don't go to Termini train station. At the Tiburtina station is cheaper and there are no queues (3 EUR/6 hours/luggage).
We enjoyed very much the stay in this apartment and for sure we'll be back! "
