About Janine Hoedemaker
In 2004 we moved from Holland/Amsterdam to Vence with our 3 young children. We lived almost 10 years in this beautiful house we renovated along the way. Now we live in a house in the old centre of Vence, we renovated totally and we enjoy as it here as well. We always remember "Les Lucioles" as a lovely place. We keep a lot of good memories! You can be sure that the villa will give you all the comfort you need in a peaceful surrounding with great view on the valley of St. Paul de Vence and close to the centre of Vence. As we are Dutch we had to learn the French language which is not easy; we made a lot of French friends and our children are totally bi-langual; so this helps a lot. We are working in the real estate business. My husband Hoedie is a well known artist in Vence as well. He is creating in his gallery/atelier in the centre of Vence. Check out his website www.hoede.eu

Why Janine Hoedemaker chose Vence
We love this area as it is vey easy to acces from the highway and lies in a quiet neigbourhood. Still you are very close to the interesting places like Nice, Cannes, Monaco and Italy. The international airport of Nice is only 20 min by car. In Winter this area offers plenty possibilities for skiing; Valberg, Auron, Isola 2000 are some exemples. A lot of activities are possible in sportive, cultural or natural ways; donnot hesitate to ask us. One day you go to the beach, and the other day you can visit Monaco and or Italy. But if you come for silence, then you stay at home at the pool, you have every thing you need. The weather is almost always sunny and there are a lot of tourists in the big cities like Cannes, Grasse, St.Paul, Nice, menton, Ventimiglia, San Remo etc.
What makes this Villa unique
Panoramic view. Close to (15min by car) to big shoppingmall called Cap3000 in Nice and the recently opened open air shoppingmall Le Polygone, in Cagnes, with the Printemps and Primark. Quiet place.

Great villa in Vence!
A fantastic home for a week in Vence. This is a friendly and well equipped family home full of interesting artwork (and a piano!), we particularly enjoyed the upper terrace with its beautiful views in all directions over St Paul, the mountains, and the sea in the distance.
There is lots to do and see in the area, if you can drag yourself away from the pool!
There is a boulangerie nearby but you will need a car for the supermarket runs.
The owners Janine and Hoedie are very friendly and helpful.
Wonderful stay in Vence
A great villa with plenty of space and a fabulous pool. Situated in a quiet suburb of Vence making it a great location to explore the surrounding area and an easy commute from the airport.
The owners were a pleasure to deal with being very attentive when necessary. A brilliant family holiday!
It was a pleasure having you; we are glad that our villa gave you the opportunity to spend a very nice and quiet holiday with your family. The villa offered you the possibility to explore the region Côte d'Azur in an easy way as the location is only 15 minutes to the highway which goes to Monaco, Italy and the other direction to Antibes, Cannes, St.Tropez etc.
thanking you to have left the villa in a very proper way!
Wonderful villa ideal for our large family
Les Lucioles worked really well for us (grandparents, three couples and two grandchildren)- a spacious villa and well equipped. Different areas to eat, to chill, comfy beds, bathrooms on all floors. We loved spending lots of time in the pool.
We also enjoyed a few visits into Vence and St Paul de Vence, lovely old towns. The piano was a nice treat for three family pianists to play. Overall a great base for an extended family get together.
The property more than lived up to expectations.
The house was fabulous ,the pool fantastic and the views from the upper terrace were breathtaking. There was a wonderful boulangerie just a few minutes walk away . Vence itself was a very short distance away and it was a splendid place with many excellent restaurants and street markets everyday .
We were a family of 7 adults and 3 small children and the house accommodated us very well. Our holiday was magical and we cant wait to return .
It was very nice having you this summer in our villa for 3 weeks.
You have taken very good care of the house, as if it was your own.
Thanks again for the booking and thanking you to have left the house in a perfect order,
looking forward seeing you again in 2017!
Lovely Villa with stunning views
We were a family party of 12 (age range 9 to 77 years) and stayed here for one week. The villa was spacious and homely with a stunning balcony off the sitting room with views across to St Paul de Vence. The swimming pool was a great hit with the children and adults alike, deep enough to dive into. When dining at home we ate outside on the veranda or balcony, each of which had their own kitchen. Both kitchens very well equipped. The drive had an automatic gate so felt very safe and secure. Quiet neighbourhood. The town of Vence is wonderfully traditional and unspoilt and is walking distance if you don't mind hills or is a short drive away. Lots of lovely shops and restaurants with a market in the town square on a Friday morning. We all had a wonderful time and highly recommend. Great base for exploring both the coast and mountains. 20 minute drive from Nice airport. Thank you Janine for your welcome and help during our stay.
Gorgeous personalized villa for even a larger group
Villa is awesome: clean, well-equipped, great pool, big grean garden and enough space for 12 women. Location is perfect even we didn't rent car. We walked to Vence and Sant-Paul Vence, which both are worth to see and where you can make shopping and have delicious meals. To other villages and cities we went with uber, which we would recommend.
Many thanks to Janine, who is very helpfull and lovely person. Wish we could see you someday again. And wellcome to Finland.
It was a great pleasure having the 12 Finish ladies in our house.
We always put a lot of time to please our clients; everything must be in good condition, like pool and outside seats, sun beds, tables, parasols etc.
The pool was still heated at 30 degrees, once per week a poolboy is checking and cleaning the water. Thank you for your invitation to Finland. Who knows...
20 min from beach by car..
Vence is a very lively village with market every day, lots of activities, lot of restaurants, galleries, etc.etc
In summer there is a well-known music festival called 'Nuits du Sud'. Lots of possibilities for hiking in the region. Shopping in new shopping mall "Polygone" in Cagnes sur Mer. Only 10 min. drive!
20 min to Nice Airport
30 min to Cannes, Monaco and Italy.
Vence is a historical village between the beaches and mountains. Near to Grasse, village of perfume. Other medieval villages to visit are St.Paul de Vence (art galleries), St.Jeannet (hiking), Coursegoules (hiking), Valbonne (beautiful historical centre), Tourrettes sur Loup (panoramic view) and Mougins (historical centre).
