A Four Star Experience That Could Easily Be 5 Stars
A lovely flat, in an excellent neighborhood within a 5 min walk of Gloucester Road Station and near dozens of very good restaurant. (I highly recommend MK Kitchen on Gloucester Road.) Hyde Park is also just a short walk away. Fully equipped with whatever you might need during your stay. But as another reviewer noted, the flat is full of the owner’s personal belongings, leaving almost no closet or storage space for guests. Prepare to live out of your suitcase. (If the owner would invest in a small storage facility, and clear out some space for guests, this would easily be a 5 star property.) Also, while the check-in was quite easy and the managing agent very responsive to questions, there were no instructions left in the flat about how to access WiFi or operate any of the appliances. Finally, the inability to open the living room windows more than just a crack made the flat a bit stifling in the summer heat. This would surely be a very cozy stay in the fall and winter. Not so much in the peak of summer. I greatly enjoyed my stay, especially given the convenience of the location, but I’m not sure I would return.
We stayed here for two weeks. Great location, just around the corner to Gloucester Road Underground. Comfortable bed and bedding. Comfortable couches. Shower and tub. Complete kitchen. What more can you ask for. We were able to travel straight from Heathrow to Gloucester Road via the Piccadilly line.
Lovely Stay in London
We stayed 5 nights at this flat in a fantastic location in London. The flat was quite and offered everything that we needed for a comfortable stay in London. We would definitely stay here again.
Cozy, great location!
We loved this place. We stayed here for 4 nights on a recent stay in London. The location is great. The flat is small but very cozy and sweet.
More homey than pictures, but nice.
This is a lovely studio very well situated. We were able to walk to Hyde Park, the V&A, etc. The tube which we used a great deal was a very quick walk away. The sleeping area was great and had a very comfortable bed. I would have loved a little bit of closet / drawer space and a little more detail on the instuctions. For examle, we figured out the washer/dryer, but it would have been better with directions. Overall, we made it all work and enjoyed the stay.
All that glitters is not gold
The apartment by itself was beautiful- an old building, in a great neighborhood and is beautifully decorated. It was very conveniently located- close to a metro station and travelling from the apartment was very, very convenient.
However, the apartment felt so cramped. The place was so cluttered and had lots of stuff belonging to the owner. For example, there was one closet that was 2 feet wide and half of it was stuffed with the owners clothes and things. There was a hook on the inside of the front door. The hook must have had at least 6 coats hanging on it- again belonging to the owners! There was so much crap- extra furniture and boxes as a result the place was not very clean. It looked clean on the surface. It would be so much better if the owners just removed all their extra belongings from the apartment.
Also, there are two large windows in the living room which overlook other apartments and so there is not much privacy. Not to mention, the windows cannot be opened. This was a problem on the first day when the temperatures in London were at a record high but okay on the other days.
Finally, be aware that the cost of the place is only for1 person. Any extra person is charged extra.
My place is close to Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Science Museum and the Royal Albert Hall. Not far from Harrods, Hyde Park all in walking distance. You really are smack bang in the middle of so many cultural highlights!
