Location, location, location. Just check the dates available and you know this rental is very popular. The reason is simple (hint: read above) but there are more. I have stayed in Fullerton South just a 2-minute short walk away. That is a very nice hotel with free breakfast that was amazing. However, that cost about USD $130 per night. This rental locates almost exactly behind in the small alley and costs a fraction. Da-Ann metro station is nearby. There are more than 100 places you can eat and more than 100 local shops within 10-minutes walk. I also found many coffee shops in the small alleys, lanes and to my surprise all of them had customers, yes, I deliberately checked.
The room is small but clean and it has one queen-size bed and a sofa bed and a small table (a little bit too low so it is not very convenient to read laptop sitting on it. The bathroom is also small but has everything needed. For 1-2 people or even with 2 small children this is fine. But for a couple with 2 10+ children this would be too small if you stay longer than 3 days.
This place is ideal for people who has budget and wants to experience the life of local residents which you could not experience if you stay in hotel. This whole area is extremely safe even after midnight as I did a few times of midnight strolling within the alleys. There is even a local noodle shop on a lane of Xinyi road, about 5-7 minutes walk, that was open until 4AM, yes, I asked them.
Lydia is super nice and was very accommodating to our early arrival - we were able to check in earlier than allowed. The apartment is in a very central location to transportation and stores. Her instructions for local travel and apartment use are simple, direct and accompanied by pictures if anything is not understood. She really does make your visit convenient and worry-free... you really don't want for anything while there. We will definitely be staying with her again!!
